Christmas in Leavenworth is magical. It’s such a special time of year and this Christmas took the cake. We were lucky enough to have my family from Hawaii join us. To say that my heart was full is an understatement.

We packed in lots of fun while they were here. We went sledding and tubing, indulged in way too many cups of hot cocoa and played Christmas games galore, but my hand’s down favorite thing we did as a family was our trip to see the Christmas lights in downtown Leavenworth.
The charming Bavarian town of Leavenworth is located in North Central Washington. Beautiful year-round, it really comes alive in the winter. Its snow covered streets lined with trees decked out in lights, draw tourists in from around the world.
There’s so much to see and do, fun for the whole family, like window shopping,

browsing through one of the many old world shops,

riding a horse drawn carriage through the city streets and

sending your kid flying through the air while sledding down the hill right there in the middle of town square.

Just make sure to indulge in some ice cream from Das Sweet Shoppe. It might be 20 degrees outside, but it’s never too cold for ice cream and a sassy attitude.

Above all, the highlight of your trip to Leavenworth will be the stunning lights.

We had a great time in Leavenworth and I know you will too.
